The Process
1. Look at Available Cats
Take a look at our available cats! If you have your eyes on more than one just let us know in the comments or if you want something particular that you don’t see listed on the website.
2. Fill out the App
Please fill out an adoption application as the first step. This helps us meet your needs.
3. Work With Adoption Coordinator
We do our best to respond to all apps within 24 hours. We work with you to find the best match and then schedule you to meet the cats!
4. Meet and Take Kitty Home!
Visit the kitty in their foster home and fall in love! Don’t forget your carrier to take kitty home!
Preparing for Your New Cat
- Canned Wet Food (primary meal 2-3x per day)
- Dry Food (left out all the time for grazing)
- Water Fountain (cats need moving water)
- Litter (your choice)
- 2 Litter Boxes (1 per cat + an extra)
- Toys (wands, lasers, etc)
- Bed or blanket (hint: cats love sherpa)
- Tall scratching post and/or tall cat tree

Without caring, open minded foster homes to help gets our cats ready for adoption, our rescue could not carry out our mission or accomplish our goals. As a foster parent, you are truly giving the gift of life to an animal. It’s a self-less way to volunteer your time, your families time, and your hearts.
Mew operates as a completely foster-based rescue. All of our cats and kittens are in foster (volunteer) homes and we don’t have an actual brick and mortar facility. We pay for vet care and supplies, so you only need to be able to provide a temporary loving, safe environment until the cat is ready for adoption!
