The Adoption Process
1. Look at Available Cats
Take a look at our available cats! Don’t worry if you aren’t sure yet, you can apply generically.
2. Fill out the App
Please fill out an adoption application as the first step. This helps us meet your needs and the cats
3. Work With Adoption Coordinator
We do our best to respond in 24 hours. We work with you to find the best match.
4. Meet and Take Kitty Home!
Visit the kitty in their foster home and fall in love! Don’t forget your carrier to take kitty home!
Preparing for Your Cat
Before bringing kitty home, you can have the basic supplies ready!
- Canned Wet Food (primary meal 2-3x per day)
- Dry Food (left out all the time for grazing)
- Water Fountain (cats are more likely to drink moving water)
- Litter
- 2 Litter Boxes (1 per cat + an extra)
- Toys (wands, lasers, etc)
- Bed or blanket (hint: cats love sherpa)
- Tall scratching post and/or tall cat tree (5-6 foot or more recommended)
Not Quite Ready? Foster Families Save Lives
Without foster homes, Mew could not carry out our mission to save NWA cats. As a foster parent, you are truly giving the gift of life to an animal. It’s a self-less way to volunteer your time and give back.
Mew operates as a completely foster-based rescue without any physical facility. We pay for vet care and supplies, so you only need to be able to provide a temporary loving, safe environment until the cat is ready for adoption!
